MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING - MAY 2008

A Special Meeting was held on Thursday 1st May 2008 at the Halley MacLiag. Present were Mr Rae (Vice Chairman), Mr Cowin and Mr Berry. Apologies for absence were received from Mr Cringle and Mrs Edds.

The following matters were discussed:-

Colby FC Planning Application 07/02056

It was noted that this application, in respect of reserved matters for the creation of a football training ground with associated facilities and new vehicular access in Field 421449, Off Main Road, Colby, had been approved by the Planning Committee.

It was felt that the Commissioners comments to the Planning Committee had not been fully considered in regard to several aspects of the proposals and it was therefore agreed to request that an Appeal be held. Mr Rae indicated that he had spoken to the two absent members and that they had concurred with this course of action.

There was particular concern that the proposals for alterations to Cubbons Bridge, an integral part of and advertised as attached to the deferred Planning Application 07/02055, appeared to have been considered and approved by the Planning Committee as part of Application 07/02056 and that, as a consequence, the Commissioners views in respect of the bridge had not been put before the Committee. It was agreed to make this concern known to the DOLGE Chief Executive.

National Week Event

Mrs J Fleetney, the Secretary of Meadowside Choral Society, attended part of the meeting to discuss the joint event in Colby Glen in July. It was agreed to hold the event at 3pm on Sunday 13th July and various responsibilities and other aspects were discussed and agreed.
