The Commissioners Estimates of Income & Expenditure for the forthcoming financial year have to be submitted by early February each year and are subject to the approval of the Department of Local Govt & the Environment (DOLGE) only if the rate levied exceeds previous year by more than a given amount specified by DOLGE (this year no limit imposed).
Refuse disposal costs at the Incinerator are increasing as a result of the Central Government contribution decreasing from 90% to 71%.
